Golf in Scotland

St Andrews, Muirfield, Troon, Turnberry, Carnoustie. Mention those names to a golfer anywhere in the world and they'll know exactly what you're referring to. The game of golf has conquered the globe but its home is here in Scotland on the traditional links courses where it started. Nowhere else are the crowds so knowledgeable about the game - perhaps because despite the money that has flowed into the game in recent decades it remains a game that the common man can play, with municipal courses in most areas of the country.
